Radioactive Material Radionuclide Form Possession Iodine-131 Sodium Iodide solution 150 mci Technetium-99m radiopbarmaceuticals 10 mci Purpose for which Radioactive Material will be Used The diagnosis and medical treatment of hyperthyroid cats. Cats will be injected with 1-131 in quantities sufficient to suppress thyroid func- tion. They will be isolated at the hospital until their body burdens of radioiodine have reached a predetermined level at which they may, be released to their owners.
