This - memo is in response to your April 23, 1992, memo to Bob DrE ' !wel
regarding Mr. DePangarzio's complaint, which'my staff has been diredted
to investigate.
Representatives from the Department of Public Works met with W.c.;DOT
representatives, a City of Edmonds representative, and Mr. DePangatzio
at the intersection of 236th Street SW/SR99 on May 12, 1992, to discuss
and observe Mr. DePangarzio's concerns.
Potential solutions to Mr. DePangarzio's concerns were suggested and
are to be considered by him for acceptability from a business
standpoint. WSDOT will be having internal discussions to consil-der
potential mitigation for the impacts Mr. DePangarzio is experiencinq as
a result of the left turn restrictions at the intersection.
Staff from the County, the City of Edmonds, and WSDOT will continu6 to
work with Mr. DePangarzio to implement any channelization and/or access
improvements that may be determined to be beneficial. The City� of
Lynnwood is the lead agency for an improvement program on this portAon
of SR99; any improvements will need to be coordinated with that proc:fram
for acceptability on a long term basis.
