Since I have resided in Woodway Meadows for I I years, I feel qualified to comment on the current water problems. The previous owners of our home had installed borders of rock around our patio, and "French drains" composed of drain pipe to accommodate excess water run-off. In addition to this, it has been necessary to rig a garden hose siphon from the back yard (which borders the Chevron property) to the drain on the street. In spite of these precautions, our yard is hazardous several months of the yea . I skidded on a lawn area, and strained my back in an effort to break my fall. My husband spent one Thanksgiving week with a badly sprained ankle. from merely taking out the trash. Water has flooded the first floor, damaging carpet, pad, and furniture. The time and effort required to solve the problem would have been even greater had we been away from home for a few days. In exchange for these challenging incidents, we have enjoyed other positive attributes of the Woodway Meadows development. At this time, there is an urgent need for an accurate assessment of the current, repeated water problems. The forested area to our west provides large fir trees and well developed root systems. THERE IS A QUESTION REGARDING ECHELBARGER'S ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND RESOLVE EVEN PAST WATER PROBLEMS. He does not feel he is responsible for our continued, on -going challenges in this area that he developed. Mr. Echelbarger takes the profit and leaves us the puddles, literally. We need to retain the forested area for the benefit of water control and habitat. It is my understanding that the town of Woodway is not required to accommodate the extra density required for cities.
