The City is in receipt of your letter dated August 17, 2004 that clarifies your intended use of leased
space at 24111 Highway 99, Suite 205, for warehouse and shipping use associated with an on-line
auction business (with no customers and no on -site auctions). Since there is an active building permit
for remodeling work issued for this space (building permit #2004-0208) an inspection shall be require6
by the City Building Inspector and City Fire Inspector. for occupancy approval for the warehouse. If
any construction work has been partially completed it will be determined if it can remain or whether it
must be completed or removed. Please contact Mike Snook, City Building Inspector by August 3 1,
2004 for inspection by calling 425-771-0220 extension 1333. Mr. Snook will coordinate inspection
with the Fire Inspector (please note at this time only morning inspections can be requested due to Fire
Department personnel shortages).
As determined by the Uniform Building Code, the occupancy use of your business located at 24111
Highway 99, Suite 205 is an S-1 warehouse. This space may not be used as an auction house or retail
sales space in any manner at. any time or for any special event.
The City's intent in this matter was to ensure code compliance for the safety of all citizens, customers
and workers within your space. We wish you much success in your on-line auction enterprise.

Since your business is not in Edmonds and your residence
is in Seattle, you are not. under our Jurisdiction. I can
however give you my recommendations for flammable_liquid
storage.
5 Gallon Can in Garage:
1. Original or approved metal container
2. Do not store near exit.
3. No storage in basement..
4. Dispensing should be by hand or by manual pump.
5. 2,A-10,B:C fire extinguisher within 50 feet.
55 Gallon Drum
1. Store outside in a detached storage shed that is
locked, well ventilated an contains no other
liquids or chemicals that could react with each
other.
2. Dispensing should be by hand or manual pump and
not be a gravity fed device.
3. 2,A-10,B:C fire extinguisher within 50 feet..
4. If stored in garage, keep away from exit and in a
well ventilated area.
Transportation of flammable liquid:
In quantities that you will be using (1-10 gallons),
just use proper precautions and common sense, and
keep a 2,A-10,B--i'C fire extinguisher in your
vehicle. Remember to use an approved covered
container to store your used clean up rags.
