We have been made aware that a large, timber style barrier is placed within the City of Edmonds right-of- way in front of your property. Please be aware that it is a violation of City Code to place any structures within the City's right-of-way without an encroachment permit. All permanent structures within the City right-of-way must be placed under an approved encroachment permit and to City standards, per Edmonds Community Development Code 18.70 (copy attached). The location of the barricade was not approved by the City, nor has it been placed to City standards. The City of Edmonds directs you to remove the barricade from the right-of-way and onto private property within thirty days of today's date to prevent further action by our Code Enforcement Officer. Encroachment perinits are not typically granted for the erection of fixed structures in the safety clear zone of the roadway. Your cooperation in bringing this issue into compliance is appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 425-771-0220, Ext. 1328. Sincerely, DARRELL C.
