HAHN DIRECTOR It has been brought to my attention that both Woodway and the City of Edmonds are charging for sewer services to the following account addresses (1118, 1120 and 1122 2nd Avenue South). Woodway bills $36.00 per quarter per resident and pays Edmonds $9.00 per account per month. Attached is correspondence and discussions relating to these accounts. Since these residents are in Edmonds and not charged to the allocated connection to Woodway, I recommend that we bill for the water and sewer services and pay Woodway $9.00 per quarter per resident for pumping services. We could pay either monthly, quarterly or semi-annually, whichever you prefer. Please make this effective as of July 31 and we will make the next billing for those accounts in August. We will reimburse the accounts as necessary since Woodway would be paying Edmonds for sewer services already provided. The lift station and interceptor line have sufficient capacity to accommodate some additional connections. The letter received from Mr. Robert Alberts, Edmonds City Engineer, did not specify the number of connections requested; this information needs to be formalized. We recommend that any new connections from Edmonds pay, as a minimum, the same connection fee and monthly rate as the Town residents for operation and maintenance of the Town's sewer system. As I told Mr. Gradwobl in a phone conversation, this would be fine with Woodway as long as the following conditions are met: 1. Mr. Gradwohl pay the Woodway sewer installation fee for each of the lots. The present installation fee is $650.00. 2. The monthly charge for the sewers would be billed through Woodway at our rate of $12.00 per month per service. Since the Woodway Park Estates lift station is serviced and maintained by contract with Olympic View Water District, we feel it is only fair to our residents, who use the lift station, to ask Mr. Gradwohl to share equally in costs of the lift station.
