Last fall, I purchased and moved into a comer home with the present address of 419 — 6'h
Ave S. After living there for several months and giving the address to variety of people
to meet me at that location, I've found people have trouble finding the home. It's
difficult for anyone, including 91 ],emergency services, to try and guess what the cross
street is for the 400 block of 6 1h Ave. S. 7-&C Lj 6 0 Lq

In addition, the owner typically occupies unit #1, which has a front door facing Walnut
Street, not 6 th Ave. 14A72-. 19

Therefore, in order to shorten emergency responsiveness time (i.e. facilitating emergency
services to locate my home), and for structural reasons (i.e. the primary residentJowner
lives in the Walnut -facing unit), I'm requesting an address change to a Walnut Street
address. It would be an easy matter'to out large visible house numbers above the front
porch on Walnut Street for emergency services, or anyone else to identify the home.
I've spoken with the ma ilmah, and he's suggeste 03 Walnut ccording to him, it
would help prevent letters from getting mixed-up i ' der). If you approve of 603
Walnut (or another Walnut Street address), it would work for me and the postman, and it
would be consistent with the existing addressing system on Walnut Street.

per drainage plan and City Standards. Where drainage is across adjacent
private property, all parties having any ownership interest in the lands
being developed shall provide, as a restriction on the title running with
the land, that the City of Edmonds shall be held harmless from any and all
claims for damages which may be occasioned to adjacent land by reason of the
construction and operation of the drainage system, unless, releases of

TOPOGRAPHY
1. Excavation and Grading: Excavation and grading shall conform to the requirements
outlined in Chapter 70 of the.Uniform Building Code, latest adopted edition,
Vol. 1. Where extensive grading and fill are involved in the development, a
grading plan and specifications shall be prepared.
QUOTATION FROM THE CITY CODE REGARDING IMPROVEMENTS
11.02.025(f) Utilities and Street IM2rovements. No building permit shall be
issued for the construction of any building or structure of any kind or
description unless the plans and specifications include the construction for
curbs, gutters, sidewalks, paved streets, necessary water lines, sewer lines, and
storm drainage necessitated by the new construction or improvement, to be built
to applicable City standards, provided, however, if found by the City Engineer
to be impractical to construct at the time of application for said building permit,
construction may be waived by the City Engineer and in lieu thereof a performance
bond filed with said engineer to cover the estimated cost of construction to City
standards for said improvements, provided further, in areas zoned single family
residential at the time of said application for building permit in which the
applicant has received final approval for a plat or sub -division and has compiled
with requirements therein compliance with this subsection shall be deemed by
compliance with the sub -division or plat requirements.

SUBJECT: 6th Avenue trrade at Walnut St.
The proposed street grade was designed by Reirl's; the developer of the
property located at the -southwest corner was required to develop the street
and place curb and sidewalks. The sub -contractor, Ed Husen, doing,the

concrete work obtained a R/W Invasion.Permit and placed the construction
forms. An on site inspection by this�office on 1/11/73 determined.that the
grade was in error and must be adjusted in order to raise the elevation
6 inches at the south end of the project. Reid's were notified of the
grade adjustment by phone on 1/11/73. A meeting was held on the job on
1/12/73 to instruct the contractor to proceed with the grade adjustment.
At that meet-Ing the contractor complained of re -doing his work and requested
a pay adjustment.

bond filed with said engineer to cover the estimated cost of construction -to City

with requirements therein compliance with this subsection shall be deemed by
compliance with the sub -division or plat requirements.

TOPOGRAPHY
1. Excavation and Grading: Excavation and grading shall conform to the requirements
outlined in Chapter 70 of the.Uniform Building Code, latest adopted edition,
Vol. 1. Where extensive grading and fill are involved in the development, a
grading plan and specifications shall be prepared.
QUOTATION FROM THE CITY CODE REGARDING IMPROVEMENTS
11.02.025(f) Utilities and Street Improvements. No building permit shall be
issued for the construction of any building or structure of any kind or
description unless the plans and specifications include the construction for
curbs, gutters, sidewalks, paved streets, necessary water lines, sewer lines, and
storm drainage necessitated by the new construction or improvement, to be built
to applicable City standards, provided, however, if found by the City Engineer
to be impractical to construct at the time of application for said building permit,
construction may be waived by the City Engineer, and in lieu thereof a performance
bond filed with said engineer to cover the estimated cost of construction to City
standards for said improvements, provided further, in areas zoned single family
residential at the time of said app.lication for building, permit in which the
applicant has received final approval for a plat or sub -division and has compiled
with requirements therein compliance with this subsection shall be deemed by
compliance with the sub -division or plat requirements.

Plans, exhibits and data required prior to approval of building permit application.
i. Scale: ill = 101 (preferred)

2. Area: Plan shall show entire property.owned by applicant, all portions to be
7—eveloped and legal description, including proposed and existing buildings.
3. Street: Indicate adjacent public right-of-way.
4. Eleva�lons: Show existing contours of property, proposed finish grades through-
out property and at building corners, adjacent street elevations at cente.rline
of paving and curb line.
5. Siopes: Indicate earth slope locations with slope ratio (maximum 1.5' horizontal
to 1.0' vertical) and proposed method of erosion control.. Proposed retaining
walls shall be located and type.of construction indicated. Excavation, grades
and slopes, and plans therefore, shall conform to Chapter 70 of the Uniform
Building Code (current adopted edition).
6. Utility Improvements: Indicate proposed paved areas, direction of slope, parking
arrangement, location of curbs, sidewalks, and underground utilities within the
private'property; and public right-bf-way improvements whIch shall include side-
walks, curbs, stree.t paving, storm sewers, sanitary sewers and water mains as
directed by the City Engineer. Street lighting'shall also be provided with the
necessary street light standards and underground wiring..
7. Surface Drainage: Complete design and specifications of drainage facilities
required for surface water runoff.
Where drainage is across adjacent private property, all parties having any

on the plat running with the land, that the City of Edmonds shall be held
harmless from any and all claims for damages which may be occasioned to adjacent

A lot survey and record plan prepared by a licens-ed professional surveyor shall
accompany the above prior to issuance of building permit.
