Hi Karl,
This is Greg Bowers, you called me earlier in regards to the Edmonds Seabreeze Condos. I
appreciate the call but I am a bit confused. Charles Cordova is on the board, he is the Secretary. I arr
also on the board (Treasure) but the only reason that I have been involved in this specific process is
due to the fact that the panel is in my personal garage. We have been working with SimplexGrinnell
and have had a signed contract with them to do the inspection since the beginning of March. Despite
continued effort to speed up the process we are still waiting on them. Please rest assured that we are
also committed to getting this situation sorted ASAP. Feel free to call me again if you'd like but
Charles is the best contact going forward.
Regards,
Greg

Mr. Bowers,
I may have misunderstood Mr. Cordova as to being a board member. I do appreciate the fact that you have contacted
Simplex Grinnell and can also appreciate the fact that: they are busy and it may take more time. I have also checked with
our key box supplier and have not seen an order for the Knox that I had previously referenced in my email to Mr.
Cordova. I have attached them for you in this email as well.
Knox Box and Property Access Guidelines:
The intent of this guideline is to define Snohomish County Fire District 1's Key Access Program and to
provide guidelines for its use and maintenance.
The Knox Box Program is designed to give authorized Fire Department personnel access to keys for the
protected occupancy whether vacant or occupied. This allows Department personnel to quickly gain
access to buildings during an emergency and prevents the damage caused by forcible entry.
The Department requires a key access systern for all occupancies in which there is a fire protection
system such as: sprinklers, fire alarm, special protection systems, etc., or where access and other
conditions are determined to be unduly difficult.
Key Boxes:
International Fire Code 506.1 Where required. Where access to or within a structure or an area is restricted
because of secured openings or where immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire -fighting purposes,
the fire code official's authorized to require a key box to be installed in an approved location. The key box shall
be of an approved type and shall contain keys to gain necessary access as required by the fire code official.
I have been working on getting this resolved for a year and would like to bring closer to this.

Ch. Fitterer,
An update on our progress here at Seabreeze. A fire alarm tech is coming in on June 9 in the morning to inspect and test
the fire alarm system. I received the Knox box over the weekend and will mounted this week, prior to the 9th. We will be
ready for inspection after next week. I apologize for t',iis taking so long but June 9 was the earliest so I'm Simplex-grinell
could get into it test the system. Thank you for your patience, Charlie I

Chief,
Thank you for your patience with us on this. We are having a metal plate manufactured at Mann's welding to secure the
Knox box. We've had the alarm system tested components updated and have two beds for monthly monitoring. We
should be able to go to inspection in about a week if that's OK, Charlie
