Enclosed is a letter that addresses a City resident's concerns on the
above referenced project. In order to minimize potential disturbance
to the adjacent properties on Olympic Avenue, the City requests that
only hand vibratory equipment or static wheel rolling be used to
compact the backfill outside paved areas. The project is situated off
of the edge of the asphalt sidewalk, thus requiring compaction of the
backfill to only ninety percent of maximum -density (ASTM D 1557). This
should be met by wheel rolling the trench with a rubber tired backhoe
and placing the backfill material in 12" lifts.
Also, we would strongly recommend a sand or pitrun backfill be imported
for backfill material in any wet areas encountered. This will help
further in reducing the competitive effort required and aid in the
existing drainage of the poor soil conditions.

today November 30th 1989, expressing my concerns regarding a

side sewer in street area. Do not cover any portion of sewer before it has heen inspected.
