I checked out what reviews had taken place on this project because we do not want to leave you out and
certainly do not ever mean to. On site, you may have been looking at some revisions to approved plans, rather
than the original approved plans. Tom Berg had submitted some revisions that we did not route to Fire because
they were minor interior wall changes, barrier free changes, etc. The basic corridor and suite door locations are
the same as first approved with the main 3rd floor remodel Which you did see. Plans for the sprinkler head
relocations (issued March 19th) were reviewed by Mike Smith. Did everything turn out ok?

Yesterday was the first I had seen those plans. General for project, Tom Berg called me in for cover inspection..
Maybe I just reviewed one of the suite Tis and confused it with the TI "shell". I'm not asking a question, I just felt
left out.

In April I conducted a inspection to give final approval to permit # 970034. When I entered the
building I found that the first floor door into the south exit stair enclosure was removed, as was the
third floor door. Doors in the exit corridor were missing self closing hardware, there was open
electrical boxes in the kitchen and some appliances in the kitchen were moved, which defeated the
coverage of the automatic fire extinguishing system. At that point I terminated my inspection,
discussed my initial findings with the only employee present and left.
Today April 21, 1997 John Westfall and I conducted another inspection, with many of the same
problems. We contacted Sean Richard's the owner and explained that we were interested in seeing
fire safety restored to the building. Mr. Richard's explained that there was problems between the
owner the contractor and another tenant, and it was his understanding that this was causing the
delay. I advised Mr. Richard's that I would inform the building department of the status of his
permit.
