I am writing to confirm the results of our meeting on November 2, 1992. 1 appreciated
your responsive reply to my October 29, 1993 letter and willingness to meet with us.
The October 29, 1993 letter was a warning based on what we thought was strong
evidence that your company had made an illegal discharge of a contaminate into the
City's storm drainage system. The letter was written after attempting to contact you by
telephone.
Following our meeting, I am convinced your company did not make this discharge. I
will notify the Department of Ecology of this finding.
Again, I appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

A water quality discharge problem involving your, company was brought to my
attention on this date. Milky white wker was spotted in the storm drain system
downstream and -was traced to its origination at a residence (17015 - 76th Ave. W.,
Edmonds) that'was being painted by -your company.
The discharge of untreated wastes to waters of the state constitutes a violation of RCW
90.48.080 (see attached copy) of the Washington State Pollution Control Law and is
subject to enforcement actions, which includes penalties up to $10,000 per day.
A copy of this letter is being mailed to the Washington State Department of Ecology.
