We have examined the 19 remaining sewer connections referred to this
department, and have the following recommendations to mal�e:
1) 213 Elm Street (-Dinmick)
The existing residence- is too low to reach the sewer in E.-Am Street,
and it would be difficult to construct a sewer to Second - Avenue,. It is
recommended that a waiver be -granted, subject to proper functioning of the
septic system, pending the development of property adjoining Second
Avenue, wherein a combined sewer arrangement would allow tilis residence,
to make connection.
2) 931 �--Iain (Nelson)

.conditions adjacent to-the.sewer lateral at P-lain Street indicate potential
problem-, with the sewer hool-up. A i,Jaiver is, recoff-ionded �uhj ect to the

sewer if future development. of the property or plumbing additions occur.
3) 806 Ninth Avenue South (Yeager).
This, property does. not have gravity Sewers available an(! would best be
served through an L.I.D. with. gravity sewers to FiTirith Avenue.
4) 716 Nintli Avenue Soutli (D hirdock)
Mis property is not served by sanitan, sewer. It is recommended 'that
an L.I.D. be formed with gravity sewers flowing to Eiglith Avenue,

There exists a problem related to utility -easements and the- estate
settlement of business prior to 14r. Stri'ckland's death. It is recommended
that a waiver be granted subject to completion of the uti-lity casement,
proper functioning of the septic system, �and no further development of the
property until sewer hookups are provided..

This residence adjoins the Avres residence, and could, join't1v use a
sewer lateral. The recommendation for #6 applies to this residence.
8) 18596 76th Avenue West (Cline Scuba. Shop)
A lateral was not installed.to this particular property imder the
76th Avenue street project. . Later, the City installed a.latcral. * from the
north but inadvertently constructed the.lateral on private propertv.
Attempts have been made to acquire an easement without results. Tilis
matter needs further study in acquiring an easement from ei'ther-the owner
to the north or, south to gain sciver without, removing street or
walk improvements. It is recommended that aVaiver begranted until the
City1can provide a sewer connect ion point.

This propert�, is located in th.e'vicinity of Olympic View 11ater Dist.
sewers. However, the property does not directly abut the sewer. or have
access to the Connection point. It is. recommended that this property
participate in an L.I..D. with. the surrounding, neighbors for completion of
the hookup.

Dear Dr. or Mrs. Boisen:
City records indicate that you are the owner of the property
located at 528 Eighth -Avenue North, Edmonds, and that sanitary sewer
service is avail ble to your residence. Homeowners, abutting this sewer
main installation had sixty (60) days in which to'connect to this sewer
service following construction completion, per Edmonds City Code . . Our
records further indicate that your property is still unconnected. Enclosed,
you will find copies of applicable excerpts from the Edmonds City Code
(11.16.020, 11.16.001, 11.16.010, and 11.16.240), explaining connection
procedures.
In accordance with the aforementioned City Ordinances, you are
hereby instructed to accomplish one of the following:
1. Make the necessary sewer connection.
"2. Appearin person at the Public Works Building, 200 Dayton
Street, Edmonds, and indicate by signature your intent to
execute an agreement to form a Local Improvement District
(L.I.D.) in the future; for the purpose of connecting your
property's sanitary sewer system to the City of Edmonds'
main line sanitary sewer system.
It is requested that you respond to this letter by August 12,
1974, or water service to subject property will be terminated in accordance
with Edmonds City Code 11.16.240.*
The Water/Sewer Department, within the Public Works Department,
will be happy to be of assistance to you in answering any question you
may have regarding the installation of your side -sewer. Please phone Mr.
John B. Mitchell, Water/Sewer Superintendent, 775-2525, extension 226,
for any information or assistance you may desire.

ATTENTION HOME OWNER:
Your septic tank has limitations! It was designed and installed to care for an average -size family. Over-
loading the septic tank or disturbance of the drain -field iliay seriously impair satisfactory operation. Points to
remember:
1. Have your tank checked periodically to see if pumping is necessary (2y2-3 years).
2. Do not channel ground water, surface water, footing drains or downspouts into the tank or drainfield.
3. Do not excavate, fill, place a structure, driveway or. patio in, on, or over the drainfield.
4. Limit toilet fixture disposal to sanitary wastes and toilet tissue.
5. Detergents and bleaches used in normal household quantities will not liarni tile action of tile septic tank and
disposal field.

According to our records, you have not paid any sewer LID costs for
your property. In figuring the cost to hook into LID 97 by the zone
front foot method, the minimum charge of $300 per lot, plus $55 per lot
trunk inspection fee, shall be charged against your 3 lot development.
The total due is $1,065 and will need to be paid prior to hooking into
the sewer stub provided your property by Homeland Development of the
Plat of Aloha.
