The City of Edmonds has recently installed a catch basin near the
northwest corner of the property at 520 Walnut. This is an area of
chronic groundwater problems. In an effort to alleviate this and other
related problems, we anticipate the storm sewer will be extended into
the backyard area.
You are being advised of this in order to give you the opportunity to
participate. The adjoining neighbors who participate in this will have
legal access to the future drain. The City will assist in the
preparation of the necessary legal documents (easements) and the design
of the system if there is an interest expressed by you and/or your
neighbors.
If you.were previously contacted*by the City and told to have your roof
drains disconnected from the sanitary sewer, or have drainage problems.
that you want resolved, this is the opportunity! By sharing the cost,
this project can be much more attractive to everyone.

SUBJECT: Code Violations at 525 and 529 Holly Drive
As a result of a citizen's complaint on drainage, we investigated the
subject location and found 2 violations of City Code and Standards as
follows:
1. The wiring services to the houses have been installed
overhead. Per the notation on the building permit applica-
tion and in conformance with Citv Code Section 6.30.060 '(B)
(2), the x4ring, must be placed underground.
2. I'he builder has diverted ground drainage and storm run-
off into the public right-of-way and onto abutting property.
The drainage either must be retained on the individual lots
or the appropriate storm sewer must be installed in Holly
Drive per City Code.
It is requested that you notify the builder/owner of these Code viola-
tions.

On 4/9/76, 1 met with the builder of the subject homes to discuss corrections
that are required per the Engineering Requirements of the existing subdivision,
S-20-72. The corrections are as follows:
(1). Footing drains are currently directed to flow onto Holly Drive.' The
developer said he will provide drywells to be located on the property
to correct the problem.
.(2) The power is overhead and must be under ground. The developer will contact
the P.U.D. and correct this situation. He will contact us for final
inspection when the work is completed.
