Dear Mr. Westfall:
Last February, we expressed concern about a fire hazard in our building,
specifically in unit 201. The unit is occupied by a woman with a serious hoarding
complex and her invalid husband. The unit is literally full of trash, several feet
high, much of it inflammable.
Our concern led to a visit by the Fire Chief, who orally requested the woman
resident to take action to clean up the unit. We have also sent her an official
letter threatening action on the part of the condominium board. However, the
situation, if anything, is worse.
We believe that the continued fire hazard warrants a further investigation by the
Fire Marshall's office. In addition to the residents as a whole, the invalid
husband, who is unable to move himself or be moved by his wife, is at special risk.
