RE: Sight Distance Obstruction at Cedar Street and Ninth Avenue South
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lenihan,
Our records indicate that you are the owners of the subject property at 600 Ninth Avenue South.
We have received a complaint that a portion of your hedges at the NE comer of your property is
creating a sight distance and pedestrian hazard. City of Edmonds staff has investigated the matter
and determined the hedges in question do, in fact, create a sight distance hazard per Edmonds
Community Development Code (ECDC), Street Obstructions, Chapter 9.25 (copy enclosed).
The hedges should not extend beyond your fence line toward the intersection. In order to reduce
the hazard and enhance public safety, the City of Edmonds is requesting that you trim your
hedges back to the two 45-degree angle points in your fence.
Please complete the trimming by July 31, 2002. Your cooperation in bringing your vegetation
