Re: Stormwater Detention System Requirements
Dear Owner/Property Manager:

MAYOR
During routine maintenance inspections, the City of Edmonds maintenance crews
discovered that your stormwater detention system'does not meet the originally
approved design and as a result is not functioning properly. To meet the
requirements of Edmonds Community Development Code 18.30.100 (see
attached) the problems with the system must be corrected.
It is the property owners responsibility to maintain, operate, and repair these
facilities to comply with the City's stormwater detention manual. Before we
consider this a violation of the code, we would like you to provide any information
you may have to show that your system meets the originally approved standards
for on -site stormwater detention. A copy of the original design plans may be
available at the permit counter located on the second floor of City Hall.
We understand that you may not have been aware of the stormwater detention
requirements of the City of Edmonds. The City is inspecting and evaluating all
stormwater systems in order to comply with federal requirements of the
L:ndanig-efed Species ALA an d the GleanViater AcA. Please contact Ken Giarke,
Stormwater Special Assistant, at 425-771-0235 ext. 1605, within 15 days of
receiving this notice to discuss possible compliance options.
