Friday we spoke briefly on the telephone regarding our request to modify the address on a
commercial building within the city limits of Edmonds.
Our one-story building currently has two mailing addresses. They are 660 S. Edmonds
Way and 654 S. Edmonds Way.
This one-story commercial building currently houses three individual tenant spaces within
a single shell. Our dilemma is that the tenant space on the west end of the building has an
entrance that is angled and does face directly onto Edmonds Way, 6ut its frontage faces
this main street. Its address is 654 S. Edmonds Way. We do not know why this space has
a different address than the main building.
We would like to modify the address of the building to 660 S. Edmonds Way, Suites A, B,
and C. We believe this makes sense, as it is a single building. In the event tenant spaces
are combined it would make addressing the combined space more difficult.
We also believe that by giving the building a single address, it would reduce confusion
with mail delivery and delivery of other services to the building. The address would be
more clear in the event the fire department, police or other emergency services are needed
at the building.
Currently, our tenant at the west end of the building is having extreme difficulty with mail
delivery to his business. Many parcels of mail have been returned to sender as
undeliverable, address unknown. This is harming his livelihood and exposure in the
community.

SUBJECT: PRELIMINARY PLAT PLAID PANTRY
This letter is to reaffirm our.position regarding access from SR 104
to the proposed Plaid Pantry Development. The original design.submittal,
ADB-61-84, to the Architectural Destgn Board indicated two accesses to
SR 104, with a separation of approximately fifty-five feet. This appli-
cation was approved July 2, 1984 and meets with minimum Washington State
Department of Transportation desi'gn standards for a commerci'al access with
double.approaches (copy enclosed).
A subsequent plan has revised the driveway locations.to the approxi-
mate preexisting access locations (twenty-five feet of separation). This
plan is not -acceptable. The close proximity creates a potential hazard
with concurrent turning movements from the adjacent driveways. As per our
discussion of November 7, 1984, revising the location of the west -most
access to your northwest property line, which..provi'des approximately fifty
feet of driveway separ ation, wi'll be acceptable and within the i"ntent of the
origi'nal ADB approval.

t4r. Al Kincaid, Chamber of Commerce, addressed -the Board with regard to the fountain
at 5th and Main, and presented plans for proposed alterations to the existing fountain.*
Mr. Kincaid reviewed the proposed alterations and answered questions*from the Board.
Mr. Kincaid said he!felt it needed improving and that lie was as disappointed as many others
when it came out , -as-, it did when it was compared to what they had initially,hoped to
have. After general discussion of the proposal a motion was made and seconded to approve.

Public Works addition and work area -.Staff request
Mr. Wallis explained that this is an addition to the public works building
at 2nd and Dayton. Mr. Larson, City Engineer, presented the plans to the
Board explaining that the Public Work Department has a landscape plan that
they have been working on for the past year. They have not landscaped the
area where the addition is proposed. Mr. Larson presented the total
landscape plan for review and answered questions for the Board. He also
reviewed the planned additi,on and presented plans showing its location
in relation to the total structure.

Texaco Station.' right -o-F-way landscaping 226th and Edmonds Way (Staff Request
Mr. Wallis.stated that this is a staff request since the origi.nal application
was for a qse-o ght-of-way permit. Mr. Wallis reviewed the. -plans stating
that.the Texaco Corporation as agreed to do.some landscaping which will
infringe into the right-of-way and therefore requires a right-of-way permit.
They have asked for approval of concept only so they can go ahead and make
arrangements for the landscaping at which time they wi'll submit a more
�detailed landscape plan after the initial grading is done. Mr.,Wallis stated -
that he was asking for approval in concept only with the contingency that a.
more detailed landscape plan will be submitted in the future.
A MOTION WAS MADE AND SECONDED TO APPROVE THE CONCEPT As'PRESENTED FOR

I Currently occupy the office space for Advanced Wireless Solution Inc. Located a�LM )W'
EdO��'A&6 dmonds, WA 98020. 1 have recently applied for and received a State Of
Washington vehicle dealer license with permission to base operations at the same location as
Advanced Wireless Solution. This process has been completed with The State Of Washington for
approval of Auto West Sales on every thing excluding the City Of Edmonds Licensing. I have been
conferring with Brian Nguyen over past month and have been informed that this location is not
zoned for vehicle sales. It was recommended that I write you a letter asking for the interpretation of
the city code from the planning department. In addition Brian recommended that I explain in detail
how I am presently using this office space and my general plan on how I am going to conduct my
business in the ftiture.
1. 1 Plan on purchasing & selling one vehicle at any given a time and will be driving this
car while it is for sale. This will eliminate taking up any additional parking stalls at
our office location.
2. The vehicle will be marketed only in The'Seattle Times, there will be no advertising or
signs promoting the sale of the vehicle on or around the property.
The landlord has agreed to allow me to sell vehicles from this location, but will not
allow any additional parking stalls be taken to store any additional vehicles. -
4. 1 will put in writing to the City Of Edmonds that I will not take up more than I
parking stall at 660 Edmonds Way, Suite C, and will not advertise at this location for
any vehicles.
In conclusion I am asking for your approval of Auto West Sales to initiate business at this location
so that we can move forward with our licensing. Please call me at (425) 712-7138, if you have any
