Unfortunately this type of work is very labor intensive and requires power to areas without existing supply. We have done 1S or so thus far and have a contractor quote to install the rest over the next three months. We would be happy to give you progress reports as we get moving with the contractor in the next couple weeks. I apologize for the delay but and I am completely aware of the importance of egress lighting. Thank you for your support, and let me know if you have any questions. The exit and egress lighting needs to be maintained. The original inspection was conducted quite some time ago, with follow up. Normally we allow 30 days for compliance but I suspect you weren't aware of the issues until recently. Exit and Egress lighting if vitally important in all occupancies but specifically in an Assembly with large occupant loads and visitors of all ages. Could you please take care of the issues. The exit is solely dedicated to the daycare and the gate does prevent the kids from running out in the street when the door opens and until the parents arrive to pick the child. I approved a similar "routing" arrangement at Edmonds Elementary where they closed some exterior gates to direct the kids in orderly fashion to the bus waiting area. The exiting paths were still provided even though the path was obviously longer. This was a school -initiated process and I was confident that proper care and awareness was being conducted from principal. Main Street Kids is a tenant at the FAC. Their main entrance/exit door is off Dayton Street. After the Newtown shootings they paid for us to beef up the access to their area by adding keypads. They would like an awning over this door. Jim Stevens and I looked at the area and also looked at the other awnings on the FAC. It doesn't appear that they have a lot of room for this, but we would like to accommodate this request if possible. I need an opinion about what could be done and what is needed from me to move forward. I have attached a picture of the back door. October 7, 1981 MEMO TO: Jim Jessel FROM: -Steve Simpson SUBJECT: ANDERSON CENTER STAGE CURTAINS We know the stage curtains have not been-treated for at least seven years. Edmonds School District has nothing to show the curtains ;;ere firepr6ofed, though their maintenance people suspect they were. Gary McComas can flame test a,piece of the curtain, but he says that won't prove'too, much. I have the name of the firm the.School District used to fireproof their curtains. I suggest we ' meet with Gary McComas, Art Housler, and a representative from the insurance company to discuss what actions to take. SOS/mw cc: Gary -McComas CITY OF EDMONDS HARVE H.
