Dear Mr. Stroud,
I am writing to inform the Public Works Office about the flooding in my driveway.
I have called your office at least - three times since Spring 1996 about the pool of water
which forms in front of our house whenever it rains for more than an hour. The drain in
our driveway is serving to drain the runoff from 157th Street as well as the water on our
property. it cannot handle both. Furthermore, mud from the road is settling out in our
drain which reduces its' effectiveness even more.
Street Maintenence has informed me that the water is ending up on our property because
it is the natural low spot, and that there is nowhere else to divert it to. There has recently
been some drainage work done on 70th Ave. I was told that there is a chance that it might
be extended to 157th.
However, whenever it rains for any period of time, I am still left with a pool in front of my
house and with the anxiety that I could end up with a garage full of water. Now that the
Fall/Winter is here, it is a constant problem.
I would like to know if Street Maintenence really is working on this, and if you plan to do
something in the near future. If not, I would appreciate suggestions on who I should
contact to have this taken care of

Dear Mr. Highland:
I am writing to apply for a water leak credit. We were first notified by mail about the increase
in our water consumption on January 6, 1997. We found out that it was due to a leak in the water
line between the city meter and the shut off valve to our house. It was strongly recommended that we
replace the entire water line. This was done on June 16, 1997. The leak should no longer exist at the
above address. Enclosed is a copy of the work done and the bill. Please contact me if you need any
other information.
