In reference to the applicants first submittal and the Planning
x
Commission's request for comment on the proposed use of septic
F,
tanks, we have the following to offer:.
to
1. Under RCW 43.20.050 the.State Board of Health restricts
use of septic tanks. Under WAC 248-96-060 properties must
connect to sewer if they are within 200.feet of a sewer main.
2. The Snohomish Health District acting as the City's
health agent, has indicated in a letter of June 17, 1976, that
no sewage disposal permits should be issued in this area.
3. City Code Section 12.10.050, (2) (b) 1. (B), requires
.
that subdivisions connect to the sewer if they are within
800 feet of a sewer main.
Since the proposed development is adjacent to a sewer main which
can become available for sewer hookups; this development must
connect to the sewer in light of the above requirements. Copies
of the code and letter are attached.
