TYPE OF INSPECTION: Roadway inspection SHORT PLAT IMPROVEMENTS
WORK DESCRIBED BELOW HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND APPROVED
CORRECTIONS LISTED BELOW MUST BE MADE BEFORE WORK CAN BE
APPROVED AND/OR THE NEXT PHAST OF WORK IS STARTED.
RECALL FOR INSPECTION
STOP WORK UNTIL AUTHORIZED TO CONTINUE BY CITY INSPECTOR
1.Provide a 2:1 slope from the fence to the top of pavement or install a wall(designed by a
geotechnical engineer or a wall in combination with setbacks for the drive surface that does
not allow vehicles to put a surcharge on that wall). It appears that the roadway grade is above
the original proposed grade. The newly installed rock may not be placed against the fence or
allowed to migrate against the fence by erosion.
2.Provide a paved 16 drivable surface from Sta 9+91 to 9+42. Provide a paved 12 drivable
surface from Sta 9+42 to 8+01 measured from the edge of pavement to the face of the
extruded curb. It appears that in several areas these required widths will not be possible after
the installation of the extruded curb, please see standard detail E2.7. The private drive will
need to be widened.
3.Remove existing concrete sidewalk and curb to allow for a 16 drivable entrance.
4.The concrete sidewalk will need to meet the approach (16 drivable surface) with a ramp that
does not exceed the ADA required 8.3% and maintains a cross slope not exceeding 2%.
5.Several areas of existing pavement have settled or broken away from the match point from
new to old at Sta 8+01. Remove broken settle existing pavement and provide new clean saw
cut edge.
6.It appears that Structure at Sta 9+11.4 is well above grade. This structure will need to be
brought to grade to allow for the full width of the required drivable surface and to protect
against vehicle damage.
7.Storm water flows at the southern side of the private drive Sta 8+01(where the new asphalt
th
will meet existing asphalt for 23530 97 Pl W.) to Sta 8+66 will need to be collected. This
can either be achieved by sloping to one side of the drive and placing extruded curb to direct
storm flows to the nearest catch basin or sloping the private drive flows to the center of the
private drive (an inverted crown) and to the nearest catch basin.
The actions or corrections indicated above are required to be corrected
prior to final short plat approval.
