No objections to the application were voiced by the audience. It was moved by Mr. Thompson, seconded by Mr. Haines, that the subdivision request.of Donald J. Plats P-1-66 Preliminary Plat of "MARA VISTA", Ralph Larson 6 Associates Affidavits of publication and poster presented, as well as note of notice to adjacent property owners. Letter from the Health Officer was read, approving sanitation facilities as outlined. Mr. Webb, the Engineer, Mr. Parker, and Mr. Larson were present and outlined the proposed plat. Mrs. Cunningham asked what would be done about sewers for the swamp area, and was told it could be severed. She said she would like sewers on her property, and the whole area should be considered as a whole for sewers. Lee Johnson, 722 Hindley Lane, asked about whether electrical service would be overhead or underground and was told nothing had been determined yet. Lee Terry, 731 Melody Lane, asked if there would be any height restric- tions and was told nothing beyond city code restrictions. In answer to a question about beach access, the applicants stated that there would be a 10' walkway easement for the benefit of property owners in the plat to give access to the water, as all owners would have an undivided interest in Tract A, giving beach facilities. A question of actual ownership of the property was raised by the Planning Commission, and it was determined that the property was owned by Rex Strickland, and Mr. Larson held an option on the property. Mr. Murphy confirmed that certification on the application should have been signed by the property owner, rather than the option holder. Mr. Carl Harshbarger, 750 Melody Lane, and Mr. Nelson, 741 Melody Lane, expressed concern about height restriction. Mr. Nordquist reported that he had reviewed the plat and found it to be in conflict with the Comprehensive Plan, though not the zoning map, in that the Comprehensive Plan desig- nates most of the property for neighborhood use. Mr. Slabaugh said that the r/w was deficient on the east, and the applicants said they could provide additional r/w on the east by taking additional property from Tract 9.
