cohlpletely -out of keeping with the setback requirements and the
topography eneral g and utilization of homes in the, vicinity. We
do.not believe that the present owner will continue to live long

with a crowded substandard lot
Secondly,-the road access will be over Driftwood Lane

The granting of this subdivision and variance would be
inconsistent with the present philosophy and theme of Edmonds to
keep Edmonds an uncrowded, quiet residential community.'
In addition.the'zoning hearing is set prior to the
variance hearing and the zoning should not be granted unless and
until the variance is granted.
v;
Accordingly we propose that the subdivision be denied or F
in the alternative substantial building restrictions be -imposed
upon the properties to mitigate the damages to the Bruns house
by limiting the erection of buildings on the lots to one story
is buildings.
In addition the matter should be postponed so that the
i` drainage problem can be investigated to determine its impact on
the proposed subdivision.
