VARELA RETAINING WALL AT 9313 —190TH STREET SOUTHWEST
Dear Mr. Varela:
Thank you for your resubmittal dated November 71h for the above building permit
application. I have reviewed your resubmittal for the Planning Division and it was found
that the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed
before review can continue:
1. Rockery Height: Rockeries and retaining walls may not be located within the
minimum required setbacks for a lot unless they are less than 3' in height (as
measured from original grade). The elevations provided on your resubmittal dated
November 7ch are the elevations of the top of wall and bottom of wall, but not of the
original grade. Of particular concern is the western portion of the proposed
retaining wall where the 268' topography line intersects the wall in a few locations
where the top of the wall is proposed to be 271.2'. This would mean that the total
height of the wall as measured from original grade is 3.2', which is over the 3' of
height that is allowed to be located within the setbacks. In order to confirm that the
rockery does not exceed 3' in height over the original grade, please provide top of
wall and original grade elevations along the entire proposed retaining wall at five-
foot intervals. Feel free to contact me if you would like to set up an appointment to
go over this at the counter.
Please redline plans or submit three sets of revised plans/documents (affected sheets
only) with a written response to each of the above items. Please make all submittals to
the Development Services Permit Coordinator Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to noon
