Dear Mr. Kallsen:
I have reviewed your resubmittal for the above building permit application for the Planning
Division and it was found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need
to be addressed before review can continue:
Height Calculations:
1. Upon changing the lot dimensions and shifting the location of the
house, it was noticed that the elevations of the four corners used for the height rectangle
may have changed. Please either confirm or correct the elevations of the four corners and
make any necessary corrections to the calculated maximum and proposed heights.

I did not notice a response to this in your resubmittal dated July 13.
Setbacks:
2. As I mentioned during our telephone conversation the other day, the City has
issued an interpretation regarding setback requirements for single family residences in the
BC zone. The interpretation would no longer require single family residences in the BC

zone to meet RS-6 setbacks. The effective date for this interpretation is July 28 as long as
th
it is not appealed. I cannot sign off on this building permit application until the 28 since
the currently required RS-6 setbacks are not met from the northern property line to the
addition.

I know that you moved the front steps in your resubmittal dated July 13 so that they would
comply with setbacks. Since this will most likely no longer be a requirement, please let me
know if you would like to change the front steps back to how they were shown on your
original submittal.
Please redline plans or submit three sets of revised plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a
written response to each of the above items. Please make all submittals to the Development
Services Permit Coordinator Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to noon or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. If
