Supplementary Report:
As requested, ESNW was onsite to observe geotechnical construction.
Prior to arrival of ESNW representative, the contractor had excavated a trench to tie into sanitary sewer main on 2nd
Avenue as shown in sketch below. The trench was approximately 8' -deep at maximum. The contractor installed
approximately 12" of 5/8 "minus" crushed rock directly over sanitary sewer PVC pipe and compacted using a
"jumping jack" compactor. 1-2' loose lifts of native material was backfilled into the trench and compacted using a
hoe -pack. The top approximate 12" of the trench was filled with 5/8" "minus" crushed rock as a leveling course, and
compacted with a hoe -pack.
Compaction tests showed adequate compaction of 95% or greater of the materials maximum dry density, at locations
tested.

Supplementary Report:
As requested, ESNW was onsite to observe geotechnical construction activity.
Prior to arrival of ESNW Rep, the contractor had excavated the sanitary sewer trench serving the three side sewers
onsite. Upon arrival, the trench was being backfilled and compacted. Backfill material was observed to be native
poorly graded sand with some silt. Backfill was installed in approximate 18" lifts and compacted using a hoe -pack
followed by a large single drum vibrating roller. Trench was observed to be approximately 5' deep at its maximum
depth.
Compaction tests show adequate compaction of 95% or greater of the material's maximum dry density in locations
tested. Approximate test locations are shown on the sketch below.
