Dear Mr. Atkinson,
I have reviewed the above building permit revisions for the Planning Division. The following
revisions are still needed to approve the application:
Height Calculations.
1. Please refer to the attached Edmonds Community
Development Code 21.40.030B.
a.The site plan is rather difficult to read. There is a hatched area labeled as
new impervious (at the northeast corner of the house) which appears to be an
uncovered portion of the patio. Please clarify. It must be excluded from the
height calculations. See b below.
b.For the height calculations, draw the smallest box possible around the entire
building, excluding the roof eaves (up to 30 inches of eaves). It appears that
points B and C include too much of the building. The must be moved
southward. In addition, points C and D must be moved westerly to exclude
the roof eaves.
c.If any of the points A, B, C or D fall off the property, average the two points
where the height calculations rectangle intersects with the property line.
d.After doing items a-c above, please revise the height calculations as needed.
Please also label the average grade, actual elevation, and maximum elevation
on the elevation views on sheet 6 of the full-size plans.
e.Label the datum point.
Setbacks
2.. Identify on the site plan the number of feet that the residence will be from
the north property line.
Please make all submittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator (Marie Harrison),
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Please submit three copies of the
site plan (at least one on letter or legal sized paper) and two copies of all full-sized sheets. If you
