Dear Ms. Sandell,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. The following
information is needed to approve the application:
Sign Area.
In order for me to administratively approve the application, i.e. not go to
Architectural Design Board which requires additional time and cost, I need a more accurate
calculation for the sign area along Lake Ballinger Way. The allowable sign area for the sign
which fronts Lake Ballinger Way is 54.25 square feet. When I calculate the sign area by
drawing the smallest box possible around the entire sign, the total sign area exceeds that
amount. However, if you can calculate the actual sign area for the insignia and each
individual letter, it will likely compute to less than 54 square feet. Or you could provide the
dimensions for each letter, and that will also likely total less than 54.25 square feet.
Please make all submittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday through
Friday, 9:00 am to noon or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. If you have any questions, feel free to contact
