Dear Ms. Saucedo:
I have again reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Thank
you for submitting the setback information for the porch; that greatly assists my ability to
process your permit. However, I still need revisions to the following items before I can sign off:
1. Datum Point. The site plan states an elevation base of 100’ and shows the datum point
to be the centerline of the street. The datum point must be a permanent point of reference
such as the top of a manhole cover or street monument. The base elevation can either be
100’ or the listed elevation on the marker but the height calculations for the
building/addition must be derived from the base elevation. Please revise the site plan
accordingly.
2. Height Calculations. On the site plan, the height of the porch needs to be calculated
relative to the datum point. Once you choose a satisfactory datum point, the corner
heights for the porch must be identical on the site plan and in the ‘height calculations’
table. Also, the table (and the elevation view drawings) must show accurate
measurements for average existing grade, maximum allowed height, and actual height of
the porch.
Please make all resubmittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday through
Friday, 9:00 am to noon or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. If you have any questions, feel free to contact
