Dear Ms. Saucedo:
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. The following
revisions are needed in order to approve the application:
Datum Point
1.. The site plan states an elevation base of 100 and shows the datum point
to be the centerline of the street. The datum point must be a permanent point of reference
such as the top of a manhole cover or street monument. The base elevation can either be
100 or the listed elevation on the marker but the height calculations for the
building/addition must be derived from the base elevation. Please revise the site plan
accordingly.
Height Calculations.
2. On the elevation views, please label the average grade, maximum
elevation, and actual elevation. On the site plan, the height calculations need to be
calculated from the datum point.

3. . On the site plan, please show the porch and include it in the smallest rectangle
that encompasses all four corners of the proposed building outline.
I have enclosed a handout entitled Height Calculation Information that should assist you with
these corrections. You may redline the existing plans or provide new copies. Please make all
submittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to
noon or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 425-771-0220
