DECK AT 18822 94TH AVENUE WEST
Dear Mr. McKinley:
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can
sign off on the permit, however, I will need the following information:
1. A letter or report from a geotechnical engineer. Because the deck is proposed to
be constructed in an erosion hazard area (as determined by examination of your
Critical Areas Checklist – CRA20070078), the construction of the deck may not
negatively impact the erosion hazard area or property downslope. If the geotech finds
that the slope is stable, a full geotechnical report would not be required (Edmonds
Community Development Code Section 23.80.050.G). An erosion and sediment
control plan prepared in compliance with requirements in ECDC Chapter 18.30
would be sufficient. On the other hand, if the slope is not found to be stable, a
geotechnical report prepared in accordance with ECDC 23.80.050 would be required.
