Dear Mr. Minogue:
In a letter dated September 28, 2007, I had inquired whether the ADU Statement submitted in
support of the above referenced building permit application had been filed with the Snohomish
County Auditor (see below).
Thank you for submitting the Accessory Dwelling Unit Statement for the subject
residence. I wasnt sure, however, if you filed it with the County or if you wanted
the City to do so. If you have taken care of it, please submit a copy of the
statement indicating it has been accepted by Snohomish County. Otherwise, I can
record it but will have to charge a fee of $55 (the Countys $40 recording fee plus
a $15 City surcharge check payable to the City of Edmonds).
I checked the Auditors website today and could not determine if it had been filed it did not
appear on the website. If it has been filed, please submit a copy of the document with the
Auditors stamp on it. Otherwise, you may file the document with the County or the City can do
it for you. As mentioned above, the City charges an additional fee to file documents with the
County. As of January 1, 2008, the fee increased to $57 ($42 for the County recording fee and
$15 for the City surcharge).
Overall, the permit appears to be straightforward from a Planning perspective and I should be
able to sign off quickly once an Auditor-endorsed copy of the ADU Statement is submitted.
