Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. The original comments are followed by the second review comments in bold print. 1.For the structural calculations for the proposed metal awnings: The plans show the metal frame canopy will replace a.Provide plans for the awning the wood trussed canopy at the drive through. Provide a listed , tested one hour assembly for the canopy due to the location on the lot, as noted on the approved plans. b.Provide connection details for the awnings-are the steel frames welded together, or The revised plans show a full depth welded joint at N-1. how are they connected? Is that typical for joints N-2, N-3, etc. Provide note on plan. c.Metal roof and Metal Fascia is noted. Titanium, or ? How is it attached to the metal frame, what gauge, etc 2.For the wood framed roof diaphragm: a.The twist straps called out on the original drawings were used to tie the top of the canopy trusses, and the stud wall to the flat roof diaphragm. Those twist straps are now an incorrect size, if twist straps are still required (similar to the opposing wall). EOR Engineer of record to identify revised diaphragm to wall connections required. response is to bend straps around studs. These straps are not yet installed. The exterior sheathing is installed and has been approved for cover. Is the EOR requiring the sheathing to be removed or notched to perform this operation? Might it be more practical to use the LST12 straps as called out on detail M/S3? EOR to respond. b.EOR to include any additional special inspection requirements.
