A walk through the Sunset Condo project was requested by Chevy Chase ,Engineer of
Record, to help determine what will be required to gain certificate of occupancy for the
building including the basement with parking, and the six residential units. The main
issues to be discussed were the stairwells and doors from the basement to the main level.
During the walk through it was noted:
The stair rise and run did not meet code as was indicated on a Notice dated

4/11/11.
The basement level doors to the stairwells were not located as per approved
·
plans, with added concrete landings installed at the bottom of the stairs.
Other finals including electrical, fire, elevator, and engineering needed to be
·
approved prior to occupancy.
Firestopping through the PT slab was incorrect
·
Heat pump installation instructions will need to show inside installation is
·
acceptable for inside the building.
Apparent non-conforming plumbing drain changes were evident in basement.

Because only one of the duplexes was given a final inspection by the city
·
Building Division, it was recommended to request a final on the rest of the
structure to identify any other deficiencies that may exist.
