On behalf of the Planning Division, I have reviewed the above building permit
application. Please make the following revisions to the plans:
Height Calculations. Although the addition is under the 25 foot height limit,
height calculations are required.
a.On the site plan, draw the smallest box possible around the entire house,
including the covered porch. Exclude the roof eaves (up to 30 inches).
Label the corners of the box as Points A, B, C and D. Identify the
elevation of each point in reference to the datum point. Refer to the
attached handout.
b.Calculate the average of points A, B, C and D; this will be the ‘average
grade’. Add 25 feet to the average grade to identify the maximum. Show
the height calculations in a box on the site plan. Refer to the handout.
c.On one of the elevation views label the average grade, actual, and
maximum.

You may red-line the existing plans or submit new copies. Make all submittals to a
Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, 8:00
