Dear Mr. Thomas:
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division, and it was
found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed
before review can continue.
Site Plan:
1.Label the existing covered front porch on your site plan. Additionally, please
label the existing outdoor patio on the southern side of the residence as either covered or
uncovered.
Height Calculations:
2.If the existing outdoor patio on the southern side of the residence is
covered, the height rectangle should be extended to the south to include the roof over the
covered patio (including up to the supporting posts and excluding up to 30 inches of eaves).
If any corrections are made to the height rectangle, please update the height calculations as
necessary. If the existing outdoor patio on the southern side of the residence is uncovered,
the height rectangle is correct as shown.
Lot Coverage:
3.Lot coverage is defined as the total ground coverage of all buildings or
structures on a site measured from the outside of external walls or supporting members or
from a point 30 inches in from the outside edge of the eaves, whichever covers the greatest
area. It appears that you included the existing outdoor patio on the southern side of the
house in your lot coverage calculations; however, if this patio is uncovered, it does not
need to be included in your lot coverage calculations. Additionally, please confirm that the
existing covered front porch is included in your lot coverage calculations.
Please make all submittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday through
Friday, excluding Wednesdays, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. If you have any questions, feel
