Dear Mr. Dasher: I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can sign off on the permit, however, the following information needs to be clarified: Sign Height: While I understand the sign was previously approved for the building at 323 1. Main Street, and the same sign could be reused for the 318 Main site, the proposed height of the site is greater than what the zoning allows. For internally illuminated signs in the downtown area, a several conditions must be met, one of which is that the sign may not be higher than 14 feet (20.60.020.M.5). As proposed, the sign would be 17’ above the street. Please resubmit the proposal indicating that the sign meets the 14’ height limit . Make all submittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, except on Wednesdays when we are closed for permit review.
