During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator.
1.Identify the beams, joists, posts, and footings for the 3x31 area of deck proposed to be
replaced.
2.Identify the footings for the deck being replaced.
3.The 4x16, 4x12, 4x4 posts, and all other wood exposed to the weather will need to be pressure
preservative treated.
4.It is not clear on the plans if any of the existing deck framework or footings is proposed for re-
use. Identify any existing portion that will remain, and what the material size, species, grade,
treatment, etc.
5.It is not clear what type of bolts (thru or lag, size, hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel) are
proposed to hold the 4x4s supporting the deck guard in place. It will need to support a 200
pound load anyplace along the top of the guard, and a 50 PSF load in the interior portions of the
guard.
6.Provide deck ledger and hanger detail, including flashing and hardware numbers.
7.Provide post to beam connection details. Call out hardware.
8.Where the kitchen flooring is being replaced, does this mean just floor covering. If it includes
the subflooring or joists, this will need to be identified along with the proposed replacement
materials.
