09-0350 UPS Store.pdf City of Edmonds PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS BUILDING DIVISION (425) 771-0220 DATE: 6/17/2009 TO: KDW Architecture/Engineering Attn: Mark Thieme 942 Tyler St., Bldg 56, Ste E Benicia, Ca. 94510 RE: Plan Check: BLD20090350 Project: UPS Store TI Project Address: 23632 Hwy 99 #Q During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information, clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. 1.The architect of record is required to sign all sheets that have his stamp. Sheet G1.0 is the only wet signed page. 2.The occupancy classification appears to be a “B”, with many similarities to a post office. Is there a compelling reason for wanting to label it an “M” occupancy? Either way one unisex accessible restroom is adequate and the occupant load is less than 50. 3.Detail 12/A1.2 shows 24” to top of sink, instead of the 34” that ICC-Ansi A117-1 calls for. 4.Detail 2/G3.0 does not show the correct height of 60” from the parking floor level to the bottom of the accessible parking signage per A117-1-502.7 5.Is the restroom groundwork plumbing existing? 6.Storage room 106 appears as though it previously may have been a restroom. If so, how are the existing plumbing pipes to be abandoned? locked 7.The footnote 1 at the door schedule reads “This door to remain during business hours” If this was for the front doors and was meant to comply with IBC1008.1.8.3-2.2 the current language is “THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHILE BUILDING IS OCCUPIED”. With the type of hardware provided for the space, no sign above the door is required, because the doors are always openable from the interior. 8.Identify safety glazing requirements at the storefront replacement work.
