Dear Alan,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can
sign off on the permit, however, the following information needs to be clarified:
1. Design Review required: A site visit on Monday, June 15, confirmed that the fagade
of the proposed espresso stand has been repainted prior to issuance of the subject
building permit. The previous week at the counter we had discussed the need to
submit color samples in support of the subject TI application. Because this was not
done, the painting was performed in violation and the required design review fee will
be doubled as a result. Since the site is located within the Highway 99 corridor,
district -based administrative design review is called for and the $230 fee will be
assessed prior to issuance of the permit. The design of the space will be reviewed
against the applicable criteria in the Comprehensive Plan as well as those design
standards located in ECDC 16.60.030. '
