During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator.
1.Provide a lateral analysis of the roof structure.
2.Call out if the roof sheathing is required to be staggered in with the existing roof deck, or are the
beams required to be strapped to the existing roof or plate line, or both. If not, justify with
calculations.
3.Provide a gravity analysis for the structure. Calculations for the longer span deck beam, rafters
and footings. The rafters with the 5 overhang appear to fail for deflection.
4.Call out wood species, grade, and pressure preservative treatment requirements for all wood me.
Several of the beams are identified as Structural. Is this is meant to be Select Structural
grade?
5.All wood members subject to wind blown rain (columns, deck, guard, braces) will be required to
be PT or naturally decay resistant.
6.Call out footing rebar requirements (R403.1.3). If none, justify

8.Include information on plans that all fasteners and hardware in contact with pressure
preservative treated wood is to be hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel.
9.Minimum footing depth is 18 below grade.
10.Section B/3 does not show the bottom of the existing house footing in relation to the bottom of
the new deck footings. This should be shown in order to determine if a surcharge will be
applied to the existing foundation.
