Before I can sign off on the permit, however, the following information needs to be clarified in a written response: Porch Fireplace: On Sheet 2, a fireplace and a 42" high wall are shown off the eastern side of the porch. Based on the dimensions of the fireplace and wall, it appears that these features will encroach the 7.5' side setback in that area by 6 inches. According to ECDC 16.20,040.13, eaves and chimneys may project into a setback up to 30": the 42" wall, however, may not. Please revise the plans so that all portions of the wall meet the 7.5' setback requirement. You may redline your existing plans or submit three copies of your updated site plan (one reduced size) and two sets of any updated pages of the building plans.
