Existing curb, gutter and asphalt was removed for access to utilities. Trench (approximately 4' to 5' sleep) runs east -west from east side of building across both north and southbound lanes of Admiral Way. The existing subgrade was removed, stockpiled and replaced. Observed approximately 8 -inch lifts placed, leveled and compacted with hoe -pack. Compaction testing was performed with Troxler nuclear densometer and results indicated that the required 95% compaction was achieved. To the best of our knowledge, all items inspected as noted above were in general Yes conformance with the approved plans and specifications. Stockpiled native soils was placed in 12 -inch lifts atop pea gravel pipe bedding to within 6 inches of bottom of asphalt concrete placement. Each lift was compacted via multiple passes of hoe -pack. Compaction testing was done with Troxler nuclear lensometer and results indicated that the required 95% compaction was achieved. Note: Backfill didn't begin for 2'/z hours due to inspection by City of Edmonds.
