With an erosion control inspection recently completed at the site, it was found that there are
several concerns within the critical areas to be resolved. Follow up inspections for engineering
will need to be scheduled for each of the items below. Please address the following items as
soon as possible.
1. Due to the steep slopes at the site, current weather patterns and the amount of exposed soils, the
city request that the geotechnical engineer of record visit the site and provide a report with their
recommendations on maintaining erosion control of the steep slopes where vegetation has been
removed.
2. Per plans, the riprap pad does not call for cuts into the slope. It also appears that do to cuts and
placement of soils removed from the cuts, an area for water to pond has been created. Please
have the geotech. of record address the cuts to the slope and possible ponding of water created at
the riprap pad location and provide recommendations to be implemented if needed.
3. Please have the geotech. of record provide confirmation within the report of the orientation of
the riprap pad in relation to the topography/slope is adequate as well as the placement of the
stormwater outfall in relation to the riprap pad. If not adequate please address.
4. As of 1.9.19, stone has been placed of the required median size 16" up to the maximum of 24",
though no minimum stone size of 4" was in place. If additional material is to be placed please
call for engineering inspection when completed or if an update to the riprap pad is necessary per
the geotech. of record report please install as directed.
