Chris,
I received this response to your email from Darrell Smith. He actually called me first to
discuss. I think his email should eliminate any concerns you might have regarding the sewer
lift station. We will call it in for re -inspection for the backfill.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know,
Thanks

John thank you for phone call this afternoon and informing me of the concrete
pour today around the residential lift station. From your description your
company poured more than 23 cubic feet of concrete up against residential lift
station and completely around the lip. With that understanding you are in full
compliance with COE standard lift station grinder pump detail and the LDC
report. Please also bear in mind the intent of the anchor feature is to counteract
buoyant forces from ground water. It is our understanding that the geotechnical
investigation at this site reported no evidence of ground water at this elevation.
Therefore I have a high level of confidence your residential lift station will
perform well as constructed regarding the anchor in place feature. Thanks Darrell

Hello All,
I spoke with our utilities engineer and provided the below forwarded email as
well as the original approved sewage pump design packet. A question was asked
in regards to option #2 - Is the approximate 1.75" (I don't know the exact width if
John or Terry could provide additional information may be helpful) circumference
lip at the base of the cylinder going to be enough area for the concrete to hold on
to? If it is decided to go with option #1 - We will need to know what type and
size anchor would be acceptable (to LDC Corp.) for the install, prior to
inspection. Please let me know what is decided.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Chris B. Rivera

Chris,
You were out yesterday and spoke with my brother Terry. This is for the
correction notice on 15716 72nd Ave West and permit number ENG20180044.
We will be pouring concrete alternative method for the uplift from the email
below. Please verify this email letter is enough from the Engineering firm on
record.
Thanks
John

The concrete pad you have poured/described is more than sufficient to counter act
any potential buoyant forces. The LDC spec sheet required 23 cubic feet concrete
(3,334lbs) and you have installed 72 cubic feet of concrete (10,476lbs). So
attaching your sump by installing 4 concrete foundation anchor bolts should
satisfy the city inspector correction notice. I would however run this solution past
the city before beginning.
Alternatively you could pour 23 cubic feet concrete around the base of the sump.
Feel free to call me if you have any questions. Thanks Darrell

The contract was with the homeowner Donald O'Neal. I have the contract at the
office and can get your job file number if you need.
The width and length of concrete pad is 8 1/2 ` x 8 1/2' and the depth was 12"
thick.
Thanks
John

Hi My brother spoke to you today regarding the O'Neal project.
Attached are pictures from the site with the correction notice.
Basically, the inspector wants to know how high and how much
concrete around the base for potential uplift. Their standard detail is
attached as well. We have poured 1 foot thick concrete pad
underneath already as you can see from picture.
Thanks for your help
