Dear Mr. Canaan,
I have reviewed the height calculation resubmittal for the referenced building permit for the
Planning Division. In our discussion at the counter, I must not have been as clear as I should
have with respect to which points needed to included for the calculation and I apologize for that.
However, before I can sign off on the permit, please update the height calculations once more in
the following manner:
Take the average of Points A and B (425' + 424.6') / 2 = 424.8' — this is the elevation
to be used for the northwestern corner point according to ECDC 21.40.030.13.
2. Add that value (424.8') to the other elevations for Points C, D and E (424.6', 420.2'
and 420.3', respectively) and divide by four to find the average elevation = 422.475' in
this case. Your maximum would be 25' above that value or 447.475'.
3. Make any changes to the average grade and maximum height as needed on the site plan
and elevations on Sheet 6.
You may redline your existing plans or submit three copies of your updated site plan (one
reduced size) and two sets of any updated pages of the building plans. Please make all submittals
to a Permit Coordinator, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. If you have any
