Before I can sign off on the permit, however, the following information needs to be clarified: Sin e: According to ECDC 20.60.020.L, the proposed interior illuminated boxed cabinet sign is a conditionally permitted sign in the Neighborhood Commercial area such as the location on Olympic View Drive. One of the conditions (ECDC 20.60.020.M.8) is that "the background color of a boxed cabinet sign face must be opaque and not allow any internal illumination to shine through." Please confirm that the proposed sign illuminates only the lettering and that no light will shine through the sign face. 2. Silln location: ECDC 20.60.020.M.3 states "[i]nternally illuminated signs in the downtown area and the neighborhood commercial areas must be mounted on the wall of the building. They may not be mounted on or under an attached awning." The proposed sign is shown mounted on the canopy above the exterior walkway adjacent to the business. Please revise the location and attach the sign to the building's wall or change the sign type to make it non -illuminated to ensure compliance with this provision.
