Thanks, Chris B. Rivera Engineering Technician City of Edmonds 121 5th Ave. N. Edmonds, WA 98020 425.771.0220 ext. 1339 From: Johnny Vong [mailto:johnnycvong@gmail.com] Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2017 4:09 PM To: Rivera, Chris <Chris.Rivera @edmondswa.gov> Subject: Follow-up from today's inspection Hi Chris, Just wanted to send this email to document some of the open items that need clarification from the city. 1) Bio-swale. It is installed per plan, but you wanted to confirm if this was compatible with the fence (which is also installed per plan) Concern here is the undermining of the walkway and some sluffing toward the fence. The slope need to be reduced, set at a 2:1 slope. 2) Sewer main at trash enclosure. Confirm how you want installation around fence. The sewer cleanout should be installed per the detail you have attached. The 12" cast iron lid with 2'x2' concrete collar. After speaking with the Planning department and Tim Harris the sewer division lead. It would be acceptable to leave the wood panels 3-4" off of the sewer lid allowing for the lid to be removed. 3) Rocks at the edge of landscaping in the alley - is this ok as is? The rocks at the alley will need to be removed. The slope of soils and bark combined should not exceed a 2:1 slope adjacent to the right of way. 4) Landscaping in the front of the building (small mound)- is this ok as is? The slope of soils and bark combined should not exceed a 2:1 slope adjacent to the right of way. 5) Trash enclosure pins - confirm locations of pins when enclosure is open The trash enclosure pins will need to be installed for both gates in the closed position and on the east gate a pin is to be installed at the widest open position, the west gate will need to have a pin placed within the neighboring concrete gutter (I will stop by and paint out specific location). Items remaining to be done before next Final inspection: • Clean catch basin in curb gutter and alley • Clean strip drains in rear driveways also at Bell St. if needed. • Cap sewer main per attached detail • Cap backflow preventer per attached detail • Cap cleanouts • Replace manhole covers (2) at the bio-swales with grate cover • Add rocks at the end of the bio-swale to transition to grate cover • Clean up/mud catch basin in curb gutter • Re -do asphalt in Bell St • Remove concrete drop in sidewalk • Add metal sleeve on garbage enclosure pin hole • Mail box • Need updated as-builts — Delete utilities which were not installed. Show all location of installed utilities, call out materials and depths. Let me know if I am mussing anything here. Thanks. Johnny
