Good morning,
I had a chance to look at the trees in question yesterday. The tree that was removed was a pine that
had severe internal rot. I took a photo of the remaining stump which shows rot had reached the
base of the tree. I can provide this photo if needed.
As for the other three trees submitted for removal, I agree with the assessment that these trees do
pose a potential threat and should be removed per the proposal.
About the tree policy question, I don't feel that the property at 19903 82nd PI W. would be an
appropriate site for tree replacement due to the density of the current tree canopy. However, the
required tree replacements could be planted in another area. We have several parks, such as Pine
Ridge, Hutt, or Yost, where trees could be adequately placed to satisfy the tree policy.

Hello,
A few weeks back we received a call from a resident who had concern about trees being removed
from the city's undeveloped alley (at the back of 19903 82nd PI W.). Upon inspection 2 trees were
removed near the alley. The alley being 20' wide it was clear one of the trees indeed was within the
right of way, the other I would say sits just outside. A correction notice was left at the site requesting
the homeowner to obtain a right of way permit and provide information pertaining to the trees per
the city tree policy. The home owner followed up by stopping by city hall on 12/4/17 and providing
information pertaining to the downed trees (please see the provided submittal dated 12.4.17). At
the counter I was informed that the homeowner had concern about one additional tree not yet
removed (pg.9 of submitted packet dated 12.4.17). It was requested of the homeowner to provide
us with an updated site plan that showed the location of the additional tree to be removed.
A second submitted packet was received on 12.8.17 (please see attached). Turns out that there are 3
additional trees in question that the homeowner would like to remove. In the attached you can find
photos of the 3 trees along with a site plan for locating the trees proposed for removal and
comments provided by the contractor.
Chuck & Debra,
Can you please stop by the site at your earliest convenience and take a look at the 3 trees in
question proposed for removal. Also please look over the tree (stump) and remnants within the right
of way and provide any feedback that you can to the health of the removed tree.

Would you please confirm which trees are in the right of way and which trees are not.
Debra,
Per the tree policy can you please take a look and provide your input as to whether or not
replacement trees would be required.
