Hi Randy,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can
sign off on the permit, however, the following information needs to be clarified in a written
response and on the applicable plan sheets:
1. Proposed carport: The subject parcel is zoned RS-8 which requires 25' street setbacks
from the north and east property lines. The proposed carport is shown at about 20'
from the east line. As a result, the structure will have to be moved to comply with the
25' requirement. To maintain most of the structure, it would be possible to move the
support columns to meet the setback requirement and have up 30" of eave project
into the setback area as an exception per ECDC 16.20.040.B. Whatever option is
chosen for the carport, make any changes associated with the height rectangle and
calcs, structural lot coverage, and the like, on the site plan and elevation sheets.
2. Datum point: On the site plan, please label the datum point used for the height
calculations and indicate its elevation.

Please submit three copies of your updated site plan (one being reduced size of 11 x17 or
smaller) and two sets of any updated sheets of the building plans. Please make all
